The experience with The Best Of Miyazaki
This is the trailer for one of the shows of The Best of Miyazaki, where I was on stage with the Anime Pop Orchestra. The musicians were playing, and I was sketching at full speed (to see other videos about this, check out my social media). Given the success of this first edition, we are organizing more dates for 2026.
"Metal" Sketches
Anyone who follows me knows that I love 'heavy' music, to put it mildly. And I believe that my personal style (which has little to do with the styles I sometimes have to 'imitate') is perfectly suited to black, death, industrial, goth, and extreme metal in general. However, for obvious reasons, I cannot accept too many commissions, but I am willing to evaluate every single proposal, with special attention given to those bands I have personally contacted out of my love for them.
Now imagine
being in the audience and seeing your band absolutely crush it, while behind them, a visual artist creates a piece in real-time, directly inspired by your music. At every concert, a different piece – or multiple pieces per show – to be sold at the end of the live performance, or auctioned off on the official website.
Considerazioni sulle tecniche
Brushes and palette knives on canvas or other surfaces
PROs: high visual impact, especially for large brushstrokes and color splatters.
CONs: color splatters, water, material and management costs.
Wide-tipped permanent markers on suitable panels
PROs: high visual impact, speed of execution, no splatters, no water, low cost.
CONs: limitations in shading and colors, but this can be turned into an advantage...
Spray cans (TO AVOID)
PROs: scenic
CONs: lethal gases for the musicians on stage, who would be forced to wear gas masks.
Digital painting
PROs: doesn't make a mess, easy to project, multiple copies of the same sketch can be produced.
CONs: poor visual impact, cold reception, nothing new, no uniqueness of the artwork
